Research Overview

Tourism is no longer just leisure — it is a geospatial phenomenon. This study investigates tourism resources of Hyderabad City through a geographical lens, using GIS to map, measure, and manage sustainable tourism development.

Hyderabad, one of India's fastest-growing urban agglomerations, has witnessed a tourism boom that drives construction and growth. Without scientific planning, this growth risks damaging the very ecology it celebrates.

Why This Research Matters?

Research Gap: Very few comprehensive geospatial studies exist for Hyderabad's tourism system.
Ecological Risk: Unchecked construction around tourist hubs threatens water bodies.
GIS Advantage: Spatial mapping of tourist flow enables evidence-based policy.
Policy Impact: Useful for GHMC, Telangana Tourism, and planners.

1. To analyse geographical factors for tourism in Hyderabad.
2. To assess impacts — spatial, social, economic, environmental.
3. To evaluate role of government and private stakeholders.
4. To propose sustainable tourism strategies using GIS.
